Homestyle Turkey Burger

This burger has all the flavors of Grandma's turkey casserole on a homestyle hearth baked bun.The turkey patty is covered with rich brown gravy then topped with a lightly dressed vinegar based mirepoix slaw for a slight tanginess and crunch.

Serves: 4

  • Combine cabbage, carrot, celery, and red onion in a bowl.
  • Toss with rice vinegar, oil, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Let stand for 30 minutes.
  • Heat turkey gravy to a minimum of 145 degrees in small sauce pan.
  • Heat fully cooked patty via flat top grill, char grill, convection oven or fryer to 165 degrees F as measured by meat thermometer.
  • Spread bottom bun with half ounce of turkey gravy. Just enough to moisten the bun.
  • Place white turkey patty on top of bottom bun and coat with 2 ounces of turkey gravy.
  • Next add 1.5 ounces of mirepoix slaw to burger before adding top bun.
  • Can also be served open faced for a diner feel.
